Solid Dividend Picks For The Risk-Averse Investor

  Back in high school I always prided myself on being a little bit different. Like "wear socks that don't match, and write poetry" different. Sometimes a kid just needs to find himself out there. You know what I mean? So it's no surprise to me that today I often look for stocks that don't always fit the traditional, young professional mold. Take, for example, the fact that a 29-year-old like myself holds a portfolio of 27 stocks, all of which pay dividends (the exception being Apple, which will begin soon). You've got to admit it takes a pretty strong mind to go against the "growth stocks while you're young" mentality, which leads me to my quest to find conservative stocks with aggressive dividend yields, low betas and low P/E ratios.
