In addition to announcing a 2-for-1 stock split, Domtar Corp (NYSE: UFS) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.75 per share, or $3 annualized. This is a 36.4% increase from the prior dividend of $0.55. On a post-split basis the increase is from from $0.275 per share to $0.375 per share.The dividend will be payable on July 15, 2014, to stockholders of record on July 2, 2014, with an ex-dividend date of June 30, 2014.The annual yield on the dividend is 3.3 percent."The Board's decision to substantially increase the regular dividend payout reflects its confidence in our future as we continue to transform Domtar into a growth company," said John D. Williams, President and Chief Executive Officer. "The acquisition of Indas earlier this year was an important step, bringing critical mass to Personal Care and enhancing the earnings growth potential of this key division. At the same time, the implementation of a stock split complements our new dividend policy and enables us to maintain a share price that is attractive to a broad range of investors," added Mr. Williams.
Glatfelter (NYSE: GLT) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.11 per share, or $0.44 annualized.The dividend will be payable on August 1, 2014, to stockholders of record on July 2, 2014, with an ex-dividend date of June 30, 2014.The annual yield on the dividend is 1.7 percent.
Rent-A-Center, Inc. (Nasdaq: RCII) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.23 per share, or $0.92 annualized.The dividend will be payable on July 24, 2014, to stockholders of record on July 2, 2014, with an ex-dividend date of June 30, 2014.The annual yield on the dividend is 3.2 percent.
