I don't know about you but I'm seeing an increased demand for quality in the REIT space as evidenced by two companies that I wrote about this week.
On Monday I wrote about LTC Properties (NYSE: LTC) and the article generated almost 30,000 page views, my 5th best article (based on page views) over the last 12 months. To recap that article, LTC is a small-cap healthcare REIT that has demonstrated outstanding risk control as evidenced by its modest leverage and long track record of increasing dividends.
The second article, and the most obvious in terms of the "flight to quality" argument, is Realty Income (NYSE: O).
To be honest, I was trying not to be one of those writers looking to boost page views by writing on O every week. We all know that O is a hot topic for many dividend investors and I did not want to be the writer who was constantly wanting to gain new followers simply by writing old news.
Let's face it, Realty Income is pricey and at some point, what goes up will eventually come back down.
I decided to write a Forbes article last week on O, simply because several of my subscribers have asked me if I was selling. In that article I explained,
